The second draw, number 258, took place the following day, July 12. Here, the focus was on candidates with French language skills. A total of 3,800 invitations were issued, with a minimum score of 375 points. In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking rule applied until June 15, 2023 at 23:49:05 UTC. The draw marked a significant step forward in the Canadian government's support for Francophone immigration.
