On February 4, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry draw, targeting the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). In this round of invitations, a total of 455 applicants received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.
Selection criteria and SCG threshold
For this specific draw, the score of the lowest-ranked candidate who received an invitation was 802 points in the Global Ranking System (GRS). This means that only candidates with a score of 802 or above were selected.
In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking rule applied: candidates who submitted their profile before December 7, 2024 at 19:39:25 UTC were given priority.
Importance of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
The Provincial Nominee Program is an essential component of Express Entry, enabling Canadian provinces and territories to select qualified candidates to meet their economic and demographic needs. Candidates invited to this draw have previously received a provincial nomination, which automatically awards them an additional 600 points, increasing their chances of being selected.
Next steps for invited candidates
Candidates who have received an invitation to apply must now submit their complete application within 60 days. This process includes submission of required documents, such as language test results, proof of work experience and police certificates.
