The excitement was palpable this week as Canada unveiled major updates to its Express Entry immigration system. Among the new features is a special focus on the transportation professions, with the first-ever round of invitations dedicated to them.
A historic turning point for the transport industry
- September 18, 2023Ottawa has made a resounding announcement. Following the changes to the Express Entry program announced on May 31 by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), a whole new segment of the population is now in the spotlight: those working in the transportation trades.
Minister Marc Miller announced that the first round of invitations for this category would be launched this week. This decision is aimed at filling a significant labor shortage in the transportation sector. Whether it's commercial truck drivers, pilots or even aircraft assemblers(...), the objective is clear: to attract talent where it's most needed.
The Express Entry system, already renowned for its efficiency, is once again being adapted to meet the country's changing needs. With this initiative, Canada hopes to fill essential positions, support its economic growth and continue its rise.
