Province of Alberta: Aviation and Safety in the spotlight in March 2025

In March 2025, the province of Alberta has launched new draws through its Alberta Express Entry Stream program. This month was marked by three targeted draws by Alberta under its Alberta Express Entry Stream and Alberta Opportunity Stream. The province has focused on strategic sectors such as aviation and law enforcement, reflecting its current economic and public safety needs.

March 7, 2025: Aviation in the spotlight with the Alberta Opportunity Stream

The March 7, 2025 draw was part of the Alberta Opportunity Stream, with a specific selection for aviation professionals. 16 invitations were sent to candidates with a score of 56, confirming the province's growing interest in this strategic sector.

This component is primarily aimed at candidates already established in Alberta, whether they live or work here. The focus on the aviation sector can include a variety of occupations such as aircraft technicians, avionics mechanics and aerospace maintenance personnel. This reflects the growing needs of regional airports and airlines, particularly in Calgary and Edmonton.

March 6, 2025: The aeronautical sector also in demand via Entrée express

On March 6, 2025, Alberta also held a draw for the Alberta Express Entry Stream - Priority Sectors (Aviation). This resulted in 13 invitations being issued to candidates in the Federal Express Entry Stream, with a minimum score of 53.

This program allows the province to invite candidates with experience in targeted sectors, such as aviation, even if they are not yet present in Alberta. This means that if you're an aeronautical technician, aeronautical engineer or aircraft pilot registered in the Express Entry system, you could be targeted by the province, especially if you demonstrate an interest in settling here.

March 5, 2025: Pathway enhancement Public safety

The first draw of the month, held on March 5, 2025, focused on an often less visible but fundamental field: public safety. With just 4 invitations and a minimum score of 48, the Law Enforcement Pathway is aimed at candidates with experience or skills in law enforcement-related professions: police officers, correctional officers, border services officers, etc.

This demonstrates that Alberta is not only looking to meet its economic needs, but also to strengthen security and social cohesion by attracting professionals trained in this crucial field. It is also a strong message in favor of diversifying the profiles of provincial immigration.

Conclusion: A clear strategy to meet Alberta's needs

By targeting key sectors such as aviation and law enforcement, Alberta is continuing its strategy of smart, targeted immigration. The low selection thresholds demonstrate the importance attached to these profiles, as well as the desire to facilitate their integration within the province.
